Lauren Bowen

Lauren D. Bowen, 85, of LaGrange, entered heavens gate on April 5, 2018. Born and raised in Michigan, he attended Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky, where he met his wife-to-be, Barbara Wheeler. They married in 1954 and share 60 years together. Lauren earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Asbury College and his Master of Arts in Education degree from University of Kentucky.He was a teacher with the Jefferson County Public Schools for 32 years. Lauren loved to sing, enjoyed woodworking in his shop,family events, and attending church services. He is survived by two children; Steve Bowen and Laurie Patterson; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a brother, David Bowen of El Reno, OK. Funeral service will be at 6:30 PM on April 9, 2018 at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, Ky. Visitation will be from 2:30 PM until the time of service with a private burial to follow.
