John Lippy, 68, of Crestwood passed away Tuesday, July 31st, 2018. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Phyllis Lippy (Dittmeier) and survived by his father, William F. Lippy and his loving wife of over 42 years Beverly Ann Lippy (Richards); two sons Jason (Sarah) of Palm Desert, CA and Matt (Jennifer) of La Grange, KY; two grandkids Zachary 13, and Kendal 6. John is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Julie (Eric) Hansen, Patrick (Maureen) Lippy, Monica (Ed) Rosenberg, Denny Lippy, Kevin (Lisa) Lippy, and Tina Scanlon as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
John’s life mission was to improve the quality of everything around him. He had the unique ability to see what others could not and restore an item back to its former glory. He would often be found renovating a motorcycle, golf cart or even a Corvette. This was his true labor of love, a gift he passed down to his sons and a passion they all shared.
Family was the most important thing to John. His family knew they could always count on him to be there for them at a moment’s notice whatever they needed. He took extreme pride in watching and playing with his two adoring grandkids. He will forever be missed and live on in his family’s hearts and memories.
John was fond of a saying that he passed on to all those around him…
“Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally wore out shouting Wow…What a Ride!”
