Alvin McIver

Alvin McIver, 71, of Crestwood, KY passed away peacefully on April 18, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones.  Alvin was born in Scottsville Ky on October 31, 1945 the 17th of 18 children of Prentice H. and Aria McIver.  He graduated from Louisville Male High School where he was a member of the track team.  Alvin worked for several employers during his career, but his true calling was serving others through Alcoholics Anonymous.  He was a friend and mentor to many during his 29 years of sobriety, stressing the importance of living one day at a time and keeping life simple as well as treating others with kindness and generosity. 

Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, Prentice H. and Aria E. McIver.

He is survived by his sons, Chris (Patty), Kirk (Maryjo); grandchildren, Amanda, Kayleigh, Brennan; brother, Larry McIver; sisters, Ruth Amick, and Mable McGuffy; step children, Angie Wilson, Lori Busch, Andrea Burns, Joe Wilson, and Mike Wilson; step grandchildren, Scott Johnson, Taylor Vaughn, Brandon and

 Ryan Busch, Mallory Durham, Jaden Wilson, Regan Brett, Tanner Wilson; and loving long time companion, Maryna Vulkah.
