Robert Brent Obituary

Robert A. Brent (Bob), age 93, lovingly called "the Ranger" by some, passed away March 17, 2024 in Pewee Valley KY. Born in Campbellsburg KY to Dewey and Louise Brent, Bob graduated from Bowling Green Business University where he met his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Rogers (deceased in 2015). Bob had a long successful career with General Electric in purchasing until retirement in 1990, which began in Owensboro KY upon graduation and brought the family to Louisville in 1970. Bob loved his God, Family and Country. He was a devoted member of Crestwood Methodist Church and served on the board of directors for many years for the Kavanaugh Life Enrichment Center. He cherished his family farm shared with his brothers and nephew that he considered to be "heaven on earth". He enjoyed trips to the farm and looking over his cattle right up until his death. Bob loved to fish and he loved working at his church fish fry for many years. He also enjoyed bird hunting with his brothers and friends. He had a passion for history, heritage, and ancestry. For many years, Bob joined in coffee companionship with a group of friends he called his "Liar's Club" at Crestwood Dairy Queen. He was very patriotic and held the highest respect for those that served our country, He was a member of Sons of American Revolution-Isaac Shelby Chapter, proudly receiving his 20 year pin just before his death.

Preceded in death by his brother Don Brent, left to cherish him in memories are his brother Jerry (Mary Ann) Brent, sister Lucy Belle Forbes, daughters Bonnie Tuggle, Jill Kelley (Bruce Hinson), and Amy (Jeff) Walter, along with three grandchildren Shawna (Rich) Lasky, Lucas (Stacie) Tuggle, Kelly (Frank) McAllister, nine great-grandchildren, three nieces and nephew, and his best buddy, cat Sam.
