Virginia (Speer) Broyles

Virginia Speer Broyles,104 years of age, of Crestwood, passed away on January 8th, 2017 at Friendship Health and Rehab in Pewee Valley, Kentucky.
Virginia graduated from Anchorage High School in 1930.  She and her husband (Lonnie) were lifelong residents of Oldham County where they owned and operated a farm.  Her favorite activities on the farm included gardening and operating the tractor on their farm, and making the best caramel candy at Christmas time.  She was active in churches she attended, Brownsboro Christian Church and Prospect Christian Church where she served as the pianist at both locations.  While residing at Friendship Health & Rehab, her favorite activities were playing Bingo and also playing the piano.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Broyles; brother in laws, Roy T. and John W. Broyles and niece, Charlotte Clayton.
She is survived by her sister in laws, Irene and Lottie Broyles; nephews, Roy L. and Wesley Broyles; niece, Mary Jane Ervin; great nephews, Aaron, Jason, Travis Broyles and Hunter Ervin; great nieces, Crystal Clayton, Holly Watts, and Shannon Williams.  Also, she is survived by three cousins, Lyndia M. Morrison-Hendrick, Joyce A. Heath and Wayne L. Wohlbold.
Funeral service will be Thursday 11am, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood, with burial to follow in Harrods Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday 5-8 pm.
