Sally Pace a long-time resident of the Louisville area, died Monday, January 22, at Baptist East Hospital.
Born in 1936 in Mt. Sterling, KY, she was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Robinson Smith and Wilbur Carlisle Smith. She was raised in Cynthiana, KY and graduated from Harrison County High school in 1954. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Transylvania University in 1958.
Sally taught science, health, and PE at various secondary schools in Michigan and Lexington, KY, before settling in Louisville in 1964. In Louisville, she taught at Southern High School and Myers Middle School, where she retired in 1994.
Sally loved playing tennis, hosting dinner parties for friends and family, enjoyed going to movies and never encountered a crossword puzzle she couldn’t master. She also enjoyed singing in the Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church choir, where she was a long-time member.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby and son Tom, her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Marcy, and three grandchildren, Zoe, Max, and Eli, as well as her grandnieces, Andrea, Allison, Lauren, and Blair.
Funeral service will be 11 am Monday, at Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, 2-5 pm, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood.
