Marti Layne Poehlman

Marti Poehlman, 80, passed away  Thursday, May 18th after a short illness. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Best; sister, Dixie Davidson and grandson, Daniel Geerts. Marti was a graduate of Dupont Manuel High school. Survivors include her loving husband and soul mate Danny Poehlman; daughter, Bonnie Helwig(Scott); grandsons, Kevin Geerts (Jennie), Tim Geerts(Jennifer), Scott Geerts (Mandi); and great-grandchildren, Shyann, Rylee and Winston; and a sister Nita Bolin. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 23rd at 11 am, with burial to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be at Stoess Funeral Home, Monday May 22nd from 2 pm to 8 pm. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Babtist East Hospital doctors, nurses, and hospital staff; as well as Hosparus of Louisville, for all of the loving care and support while Marti was a patient.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans of Foreign war.
