Louise Shurig

Ottie Louise Shurig went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 7, 2015.

Louise was born July 13, 1926 to the late Cora and Blev McCollum in Waynesburg, Kentucky.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Shurig, six sisters, four brothers and a grandson, Keith Phillip Shurig

Louise survived by her daughter Linda Turner; and son Phillip Allen Shurig; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter;  a brother, D. Richard McCollum; and many  loving nieces and nephews.

Louise was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for 18 years and leaves many cherished friends.  She was a member of the WMU and involved in many selfless endeavors for the church.

The family wants to express their thankfulness to the Hosparus team, who meant ministered to us and Louise during her last days.  The love, care and kindness shown to all helped us to experience these very difficult days.

Funeral service Noon Wednesday at Hillcrest Baptist Church followed by burial in Louisville Memorial Garden East.  Visitation 3 – 8 Tuesday at Stoess Funeral Home.
