George D Kormanis

George D. Kormanis, 74, died Monday, September 28, 2015 after a battle with cancer. 

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mary (Lisic) Kormanis and his brothers Robert and William Kormanis.   

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Joyce Ann (McHugh) Kormanis, his four children Lori (Keith) Mitchell, Mark (Martha) Kormanis, Todd (Laura) Kormanis, and Kevin Kormanis and his 10 grandchildren; Matt Mitchell, Meghan Mitchell, TJ Kormanis, Connor Kormanis, Carley Kormanis, Noah Kormanis, Chase Kormanis, Kendall Kormanis, Sydney Kormanis, and Molly Kormanis. Siblings Helen (Kormanis) Dugan and Edward Kormanis.

George Kormanis was born in 1941 and raised in Colver, Pennsylvania.

 He graduated from the University of Pittsburg in 1962 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and started his 37 year career with Ford Motor Company as a Design Engineer.  In 1980 he transferred to Kentucky, spent 17 years at the Kentucky Truck Plant becoming the plant Manager in 1990, and retired in 1999. 

He was a Kentucky Colonel and a Tennessee Squire. 

He lived vicariously through the lives of his 10 grandkids while being an avid fisherman.

He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a beloved Papa.

He will be sincerely missed.
