Donald B. Sine

Donald B. Sine, 89 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017. He was born on November 13, 1928 in Kenton County, Kentucky.

He inherited a rich legacy of faith extending back to his great-great grandfather Rev. Christy Sine, who was a circuit riding minister in the Shenandoah Valley. He was a lifelong member of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church, serving in many leadership roles.

Don was a graduate of Okolona High School and attended the University of Kentucky. He founded New Albany Auto Trim in 1953. After retiring in 1978, he began a second career in Real Estate.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lucian and Lela Haley Sine, his brother Lucian Eugene Sine and his sister Glenda Louise Wade.

Don is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Jane Trapp Sine; two daughters Carolyn Canfield-Smither of Louisville and Donna Minix (Bill) of Pinehurst, NC; three grandchildren Taylor Canfield (Laura), Allison Canfield Cloern (Eric) and Marsha E. Minix; three great-grandchildren Noah, Aria and Leo; and dear friends, Barbara and Jim Oesterritter.

A memorial service for Don will be held on Thursday December 28th, at Hurstbourne Christian Church, 601 Nottingham Parkway. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with services at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at the church. Inurnment will be private at Floydsburg Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hurstbourne Christian Church.
